Angel Vasquez, 28, was arrested Thursday, April 20, and booked on two counts each of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and aggravated indecent assault, prosecutors said.
The charges stem from a reported assault at a Shillington residence on May 26, 2022, authorities said. Investigators spoke with the alleged victim, 51, and performed a medical examination that revealed DNA evidence, according to the release.
"A laboratory analysis conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory revealed that the defendant’s DNA matched the DNA samples collected from the victim," the DA's Office claimed.
At his arraignment on Thursday, Vasquez's bail was set at $250,000 and he was remanded to the Berks County jail, authorities said.
